Mid-Career Conversation with Pat Murphy

A Taste of Clarion West Workshop | Pat Murphy Mid-Career Writers Conversation

In the science fiction field, there's a strong support network for beginning writers through the Clarion programs. A few years back, I began feeling that there needed to be a place/time for those of us who are in mid-career to get together and talk about the issues that face writers later in our careers. With this in mind, I've held a couple of one-hour discussion groups for mid-career writers at Wiscon and a more extended mid-career writers discussion in Seattle, associated with Clarion West. At Potlatch, we will hold another mid-career discussion. Like earlier discussions, this will be limited to writers who have been publishing more or less regularly for at least 5 years.

This is not a workshop. Rather, it is a forum where established writers can discuss the deeper issues of writing and our careers. Debbie Notkin will facilitate a discussion based on the needs of those attending.
