HOTEL DECA - SEATTLE UNIVERSITY DISTRICT
The Seattle committee is pleased to announce that Potlatch 19 will return to the fabulous Hotel Deca.
Originally built in 1931, in what is now known as Art Deco style, the recently-renovated Deca features a blend of contemporary Modern and high Deco styling. The 16-story high rise features exceptional meeting spaces for Potlatch, including a penthouse-level hospitality suite; cozy fireside, lounge, and alcove seating for groups to gather and converse; also a business center, fitness center, bar and restaurant, and a Tully's coffee house directly adjacent to the lobby for that Seattle caffeine buzz. Visit the Deca's web site for more information about their many amenities.
The Deca's 158 guest rooms all feature new furnishings, flat panel LCD TV, DVD player, clock radio alarm with iPod dock, in-room safe, and complimentary WiFi. Those who remember Potlatch 17 will find the WiFi much improved throughout the hotel. Most rooms offer stunning panoramic views of the Seattle skyline, and the Cascade and Olympic mountains beyond. Views are especially fine from the 1200 square foot Presidential Suite at the top of the hotel, and its 1000 square foot deck, where Potlatch Hospitality will enjoy a return engagement. On a clear day, you can see Mt. Baker from the loo.
Convention room rates:
Deluxe Room: $129.00 per night
Jr. Suite: $159.00 per night
These rates are valid from March 1 through March 11 for guests planning a longer stay in Seattle.
HOW TO RESERVE YOUR ROOM
To register on-line, please follow these instructions as the Deca's group on-line reservation system is tricky and counter-intuitive.
Click on this link for the Hotel Deca Reservations Page. Do Not use the link that appears on the Deca's own web site as that link directs you to a different page, and trouble...
Once you click on the link, you'll see a page with the following three fields: To Check Rates & Availability ; Rates Requiring Access Codes ; and Preferences(Optional) .
At this point, enter your booking dates, number of persons and rooms, bed preferences, and the Potlatch Group/Event ID Code: 42695.
Click on Begin Search at the bottom of current page. Then click on View Rates at the bottom of page that comes up.
You should now see the Potlatch group rate listed with your chosen dates - click on Select . Now read through and check off Accept Guarantee/Deposit & Cancellation Policy and click on Continue Booking to complete your reservation.
You will now need to enter all of your pertinent information including selecting access and location preferences, and any special requests. NB: The Deca only has a very limited number of accessible rooms so if you need such a room, please book early. Also, the Deca lists smoking/non-smoking rooms as a possible preferences on their web form, but the Deca is an all non-smoking hotel. There are no smoking rooms. When you have finished filling out this page, select Complete Reservation.
Congratulations! You now have a room!
The Deca's online booking system has been glitchy in the past. If the reservation page is down, or you are not taken to the page which mentions Potlatch by name and lists our special $129 Potlatch nightly rate, then you will need to call the hotel directly to make your reservation. Please ask to speak to their Main Reservationist, Katya. She can be reached Monday thru Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm PST at 206-634-2000. If she is not available, please leave a message and Katya will return your call.
Finally, if you are completely frustrated and need help, or have questions or further needs regarding booking a room, please e-mail Ulrika O'Brien: email@example.com
The Deca is adjacent to several parking lots, but these are all owned by an independent parking company. This means that the hotel cannot, alas, offer complimentary parking to guests and convention attendees. Parking for hotel guests, and non-guest convention members will be at the regular hotel guest day rate of $8.00 per day, with in/out privileges. More information on parking and transit options will be available as we get closer to the convention.
