There are a wide range of parking options near our hotel.

Flat rate parking. Pay particular attention to these four City parking structures, where a $5 flat rate is charged for evening parking. Enter the garage after 6 pm on any week night, and pay a flate rate, $5. On Saturday or Sunday, $5 is the all-day (6 am – 5:59 am) rate. Also note that many restaurants will validate, so it’s worth bringing your parking ticket with you and asking.
Second and San Carlos Garage (closest to the hotel, at the Camera Theaters)
Market and San Pedro Garage
Third Street Garage
Fourth Street Garage
The nearest garage to the Sainte Claire is the McEnery Convention Center garage. Rates at this facility vary wildly, based on events that may be taking place at the CC. They may offer a $5 overnight rate, or they might charge $25. Be sure to check before entering the garage.
Metered parking. Parking restrictions are posted — read the signs carefully.
The majority of meters operate 9 am – 6 pm Monday – Saturday, and charge $1/hour.
Meters take nickels, dimes, quarters and dollar coins.
Most have a 1-2 hour limit.
Most are free after 6 pm and on Sunday.
Information on other local parking is at sjdowntownparking.com. Look out for the difference between city-owned garages, for which the same rates as the convention center apply (usually without the special events fee), and private garages and lots, which have their own fees and usually do not accept validations. The city-owned garages are marked by a white P in a blue square.
VTA Park & Ride Lots
These are useful, if you know where they are. Parking is free for up to 72 hours. Note the signage, because some restrictions may apply. Park, then ride the light rail into downtown for $2 one way.
Street parking is uncommon in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, except around Chavez Plaza and on San Salvador Street and to the south.
Transit to Potlatch from SJC (Mineta San Jose International Airport):
There are NO free shuttles between the San Jose airport and our hotel.
The VTA offers free bus service (route #10) from the airport to two light rail stations. Take the eastbound 10 to the closest (Metro/Airport) light rail station. For $2 ride any downtown San Jose (or Convention Center or Winchester) -bound train to downtown and disembark at the Convention Center stop.
Refer to the Ground Transportation page on the SJC airport site for bus stops and more.
Taxis are available from the ground transportation points at the airport. Fares from SJC are a minimum of $15, which includes the first 3 miles of travel and a $1.50 airport fee. Beyond 3 miles, the fares are charged by meter at $3.00 per mile. We estimate the one-way fare to the hotel will be around $25.
